A Church that is clear about its Faith:
We believe
that the Church should know what it believes.
Preaching from the
word of God should be biblical and practical. The
Church should proclaim the good news of salvation from
the curse of sin by grace alone through faith alone in
Christ alone. We have a vision of church that is firmly
committed to the reformed creeds and confessions as true
expressions of the teaching of scripture.
We believe that public worship should be
Christ centered.
Worship isn’t
about us but it is all about God. God calls his people
to gather together meet with him publicly. We are to
come into the very presence of an awe inspiring holy and
almighty God with reverential love. We come through the
mediation and accepted finished work of Jesus Christ.
We have a vision that all of God’s people (old & young,
children & adult, married & single) worship him in
spirit and in truth.
We believe that a church should
exhibit caring covenant fellowship.
God’s covenant
with believers in Jesus Christ makes the Church the
covenant people of God. By faith we are joined together
with Christ and in Christ. We have a vision for a
church to be a visible spiritual family covenanted
together to encourage faith and good works.
A Church that is clear about its Mission:
We believe in life
changing evangelism.
God calls us who
are by nature unholy and unrighteous to be holy and
righteous in Christ. This new state of being is the
result of the Holy Spirit freshly applying the gospel of
Christ to the heart and life believers. The church must
take the gospel to all peoples everywhere. We have a
vision of a church that boldly proclaims and supports
repentance to faith in local and foreign lands. We have
a vision a church wholly committed to reformed gospel
missions to all peoples everywhere for there is no other
name by which one can be saved from sin than Jesus
Christ.
We believe
Biblical and practical teaching produces true Christian
growth.
Christians need to
continue to grow in grace. This means applying the
truths of God’s word to every area of life. This means
fighting against sinful desires that are our natural
habits. We have a vision of the Church as the fellowship
of saints in Christ but saints who are not perfect in
this life. Forgiveness in Christ is freely available to
all who call upon the name of Lord Jesus by faith.
